Musée D'Honneur Minuscule
Thursday, 17 May 2007 to Saturday, 28 Jul 2007
Misako Inaoka works with mixed media to create a hybrid world of natural and artificial environments, while blurring the boundary between the two. Inaoka’s installations emphasize the subtle details of physical and social environments, exaggerating their illogicality by playing with ideas such as mutating nature, landscaping with fake plants and boulders in urban areas, and development of new species.
Misako Inaoka’s recent solo exhibitions include Blankspace, Oakland (2006); SF Art Commission Gallery, San Francisco (2005); ATA, San Francisco (2004). Recent group exhibitions include Emerge, Warfield building, San Francisco (2006); Nurture Nature, Mills MFA exhibition, Mills Museum, Oakland (2006); and Close Call, Headlands Center for the Arts, Marin (2005). Inaoka lives and works in San Francisco.
